People who live in Rancho Santa Fe are often at the top of their professions, people who have made it and who value giving back to their local community and internationally. People like you, who understand that you are in a unique position to help other people have the same opportunities that you did.
One of the ways that people who live in Rancho Santa Fe engage in philanthropy is through the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation. Women in Rancho Santa Fe homes have come together to form the Women’s Fund. Since its founding in 2004, the Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund has raised over $2 million for charities in San Diego County and around the world. One of its most recent grants was $25,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. The grant will be used for the teen mentoring program at the La Colonia Branch. Teens will be able to participate in after school activities in a safe environment because of this grant.
Not only does the Women’s Fund do good work in the community, it also brings together the women who live in Rancho Santa Fe. The Kickoff Luncheon and General Meeting for the 2013-2014 year will be September 9th. Bring a friend and come to the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests pay $25 for the lunch and talk. Members pay $35. The speaker will be Tracie Arlington. She will give a talk entitled, “Playing it Safe: Self-Defense Tips for Women and Girls.” Tracie has worked in self-defense for many years and has taught adults and children throughout San Diego how to protect themselves in dangerous situations.
