Located at Del Mar Fairgrounds off of Via De La Valle.For more than 60 years, equestrian sports aficionados mark their April and May calendars for the Del Mar National Horse Show, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in the beautiful oceanside town of Del Mar, California.
The Del Mar National began in 1946 as part of the annual San Diego County Fair, which happens each June at the Fairgrounds. By the late 1970s, the Del Mar National had grown so large, it outgrew the confines of the county fair and became a separate event. Western and Hunter/Jumper competition comprised the then two-week show until the early 1990s, when Dressage competition was added as a third week in the show.
