See Critters Near Your Rancho Santa Fe Home

Critter Camp started this week and runs through April 12th at the Helen Woodward Animal Center and with it comes a flurry of activity arrived near your Rancho Santa Fe home! Open to those who live in Rancho Santa Fe (and beyond), Critter Camp is a chance for local children to gain a humane education through real life interaction with dogs, cats, birds, horses, and other animals. Open to children in PreK through 5th grade, this spring time camp is offered on a daily, multi-day or even weekly basis from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for younger kids and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for older children.
Mondays will feature “Tricksters of the Animal Kingdom” where camouflauge and sneaky secrets of the animal kingdom will be revealed. Tuesday opens a discussion on which animals can be kept as pets and why. On Wednesday children will come face-to-face with endangered species and learn about local wildlife near your Rancho Santa Fe home, as well. Thursday and Friday are focused on how animals live, adapt and help their “best friends” in everyday life.
Bearded Dragons and Leopard Geckos, Dogs, Goats, Cockatiels and more will be part of this not to be missed experience. The daily cost is $45 for 4-5 year olds and $60 for older children who stay until 3 p.m. Extended care is available as well.  Learn more at the Animal Center online.
