If you and your dog love the water, then it’s time to suit up for some outrageous splashing near your Rancho Santa Fe home. Rob from San Diego Pet Training, Guy Takayama and Kahuna Bob’s Surf School are ready to help you teach your pup to surf. Training is not for the faint hearted, as your dog is expected to follow the rules and prepare for entry into the 7th Annual Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon. Lesson will be held close to your Rancho Santa Fe home, at Dog Beach in Del Mar, making it easy for you to decide if this is the activity for you!
Surfing lessons are available on August 11th, 18th, and 25th mornings on a come-as-you-can basis. Lessons are scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Be sure to bring your water-loving pooch and a towel, although surf boards will be provided. Owners will be swimming alongside their pets, so bring come prepared to get wet. Find out more by calling 858.756.4117, extension 350. The 3rd Annual Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon will be held on Sunday, September 9th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving you plenty of time to prepare to compete. A yearly tradition and a one-of-a-kind fundraiser, this event is truly a sight to behold, if you live in Rancho Santa Fe.
