The Brian Schultz Memorial Golf Classic will be celebrating it’s 17th year in the fight against cancer. In 1994 the golf tournament was created to remember Brian Schultz who passed away at the age of 27, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Friends and neighbors who call Rancho Santa Fe home will gather at the Rancho Bernardo Inn on August 11th to honor Schultz and raise funds in the search for a cure. An event which lasts all day near your Rancho Santa Fe home, the classic includes a putting contest, BBQ lunch, golf tournament, and awards banquet with live entertainment.
Registration signups are happening now for all players. Children are welcome to join in, too. The player fee is $195 and includes the tournament fee, lunch, tee prizes, Adidas golf shirt, as well as the festivities afterward. Guests seeking to only attend the banquet can purchase tickets for $50.
All proceeds are dedicated toward funding research to find a cure for cancer at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, along with sponsoring the Brian Schultz Memorial Scholarship open to students at San Diego State University. Since 1994, the tournament has donated over $500,000 and fifteen scholarships have been awarded. Visit the Brian Schultz Foundation website to learn more and see how you can participate.
