Students in Rancho Santa Fe are served by some of the best public schools in the state. The Rancho Santa Fe School District includes the R. Roger Rowe School, which has facilities for both elementary and middle school students and serves approximately 700 kids. Both schools have received an A+ rating from Niche and have exceptional student-to-teacher ratios. The school was completely rebuilt in 2010 and is ranked as one of the top public schools in the state. High school students in Rancho Santa Fe are served by three high schools – Torrey Pines High School, Canyon Crest Academy, and San Dieguito Academy. All three high schools have also received A+ ratings by Niche and are among the top public high schools in the state.

World-class private schools

For those who would like to send their children to private schools, there are many wonderful schools to choose from. La Jolla Country Day School serves K-12 students and has received an A+ rating from Niche. The Bishop’s School is a Christian high school in La Jolla, and it has also received an A+ rating from Niche. Cathedral Catholic High School is another excellent choice with an A+ rating. As you can see, there are endless choices for quality education in and around Rancho Santa Fe.

Camps, programs, and events

The Rancho Santa Fe Library offers an endless variety of programs and resources for children in our community. While the library is currently closed because of the pandemic, it is offering digital materials. The Book Cellar is open for browsing their large selection of books and CDs. The Helen Woodward Animal Center is another invaluable local resource for kids and their families. One of the fun programs they’ve been offering during the pandemic is to have a private photoshoot with up to three animals of your choice, including Millie the goat, Kronk the alpaca, and Tasha the parrot. Many local families have taken advantage of this fun activity to take memorable prom, graduation, and family photos. Nearby kid-friendly destinations

With our enviable location in Southern California, families are close to so many of the country’s best kid-friendly destinations. Nearby attractions include La Jolla Cove, the Maritime Museum of San Diego, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, LEGOLAND California, and Disneyland in Anaheim.
