Do you want to wake up every morning to magnificent views highlighted by the enticing scent of fresh oranges? The Groves in Rancho Santa Fe provides this and more all nestled into the hilly terrain amongst California’s orange groves.
The Groves is a gated, though unguarded, community lying on 101 acres that was formerly an agricultural area of Valencia orange groves. Lot sizes vary from one to three acres, and homes here range from 4,000 to 5,500 square feet. There are 44 home sites in The Groves, and currently 35 families reside there.
The Groves development began in the 1980s by William Strong, and many of the homes have been remodeled and rebuilt since that time. The homes reflect the architectural style of Spanish Mediterranean ranch homes.
This charming community features country living at its best. There are over 50 acres of open space and the amenities include two tennis courts, hiking trails and beautifully manicured common areas. The hilly terrain in the area translates to stunning views of the surrounding valleys and hillsides, and mature trees, tropical palms and citrus add to the lush and picturesque environment.
Most children living in this community attend schools in the Rancho Santa Fe School District, with a small portion of homes located in the Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School District/Encinitas Union School District. Other schooling options include private academies and a Catholic School. Public schools in the area include Torrey Pines High School, which has been recognized nationally with awards for excellence in education.
Purchasing a home in The Groves is a great investment. A few years ago, most homes in this development were listed between $1.8 million and $3 million. However, prices have since increased and most homes are listing for $2 million and above, unless it is a short sale. This makes real estate here an excellent buy, especially considering that it is in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe, one of the most appealing and affluent cities in the country.
The Groves is conveniently located less than ten minutes from the Village of Rancho Santa Fe, which features many fine dining restaurants including Mille Fleurs and Delicias, upscale boutiques, antique and travel stores and the famous Inn at Rancho Santa Fe designed by Lillian Rice. Directly to the north of the community is the Olivenhain area of Encinitas. Travel south ten minutes and you arrive in Solana Beach or Del Mar. San Diego is located approximately 30 miles to the north.
For those who enjoy golf, the exclusive Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is just a few short minutes away. The weather in Rancho Santa Fe is temperate year round making it an ideal location for golf enthusiasts.
