California Ballet: The Nutcracker will be leaping onto the Civic Stage with the Classics Philharmonics and the San Diego Symphony. It just isn’t the holidays without The Nutcracker, presented by California Ballet Company this December at the San Diego Civic Theatre. The spectacular Tchaikovsky score will be brought to life by live symphony orchestra accompaniment at every performance. You’ll have the chance to meet the cast following 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. performances. Pre-show lectures, each lasting thirty minutes will also occur on hour prior to asterisked performances. There will be a red carpet photo op prior to all 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances. The California Ballet will be accompanied by the Classics Philharmonics on Saturday, December 12th at 2:30 p.m.* and 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, December 13th at 1:00 p.m.* and 5:30 p.m. They will be accompanied by the San Diego Symphony on December 16, 17*, 18 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19th at 2:30 p.m.* and 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, December 20th at 1:00 p.m.* & 5:30 p.m.* Gather your friends and family for one of the finest holiday traditions San Diego has to offer: The Nutcracker at the San Diego Civic Theatre.

Set to the timeless music of Tchaikovsky, this classic holiday production by the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet is a cherished San Diego family tradition. Join the magic in the cultural heart of Balboa Park as this festive story comes to life on the historic Casa del Prado Theater stage. December 11-20.
Southern California Ballet: Southern California Ballet‘s “The Nutcracker” featuring the return of international ballet star Martha Leebolt, a native of San Diego, as the Sugar Plum Fairy and a cast of nearly 100 dancers from SCB Academy and our community. December 12-13.
City Ballet: Don’t miss this wonderful performance. As you come into the grand lobby of the historic Spreckels Theater, you will be charmed by a chorus of carolers bringing you the joyful songs of the season. Voted San Diego’s Best Nutcracker production by the “Tommy Awards,” this elaborate and elegant production by the City Ballet, with exquisite costumes and scenery, will take you on Clara’s magical journey from her fun filled family Christmas party where toy soldiers and mice become life-sized, to the enchanted Snow Forest and on to the Land of Sweets where she is welcomed by the Sugar Plum Fairy, her Cavalier and magical performances from dancers throughout the world. This heart-warming production is the perfect way for families to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit, year after year. Accompanied by the City Ballet Orchestra and Chorus. Following each matinee performances, members of the cast will be in the lobby to greet audience members and pose for photos. You can also enjoy a delicious tea with the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends at the US Grant Hotel prior to the Saturday matinees. This lovely holiday tea includes assorted tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, fresh strawberries with Devonshire Cream and sugars, a Kingdom of Sweets, teas, and a glass of Bellini or Champagne ( for adults of course). 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the Saturday matinee performances of The Nutcracker. The price is $46 for adults and $25 for children.
