Del Mar Antique Show 2014

Here’s a fascinating family-friendly event that will entertain everyone, from toddlers to great-grandparents. The Del Mar Antiques Show is happening January 17, 18, and 19, from 11 AM to 7 PM on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 AM to 5 PM on Sunday in Del Mar.

Enjoy browsing antiques from over 200 vendors, including treasures from art glass to furniture and lighting, from vintage clothing and jewelry to fine European sterling and crystal. The show, in its 53rd year, is very well organized and it attracts the best dealers from far and wide. The show is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. The Del Mar Antique Show is a great place to find a treasure to add character and elegance to your home.

Your family will get a kick out of the people dressed as historical or fictional characters who will be strolling about. The folks wearing handsome period costumes are part of the “Costume Walkabout”. Guess what! You can take part as well! Anyone, of any age, who arrives in a costume receives free admission to the show, although the parking fee is charged.

Operated by the 22nd District Agricultural Association, the Fairgrounds and the associated Horsepark are home every year to over 350 events, including the December Holiday of Lights, the Del Mar National Horse Show and the San Diego County Fair. The Del Mar Fairgrounds, well known for the world-class events that it hosts, is committed to its solar power programs and to continuing restoration of trails and native plants along the San Dieguito River. The Fairgounds is at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard In Del Mar, just 20 miles north of San Diego.

To get to the Antiques Show & Sale, take the Via de la Valle exit from the I-5 Freeway, and turn to the west to enter the Fairgrounds. The show is in the O’Brien pavilion. Admission is only $8 for adults, plus a $10 parking fee per car. Admission is free for children. There are lots of vendors offering snacks, meals, and beverages.
