Fall is at its peak and the air is crisp and cool. It’s a perfect time to spend with nature and explore some otherwise unexamined habitats. Kids and parents alike will be in awe at the Autumn Harvest Tour Family Day at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Families who live in Rancho Santa Fe won’t want to miss out on this seasonal event.
This Saturday, October 29th, with Halloween upon us, everyone can enjoy an afternoon at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. This wonderfully mystery-laden fall event geared to families is conveniently located near your Rancho Santa Fe home, though not too close for comfort for anyone with a fear of spiders and the like…
Please wear your costumes and be a guest on a guided tour through the Halloween appropriate “Creepy Critter Cave”. You’ll get a sneak peek at some creeping, crawling, and otherwise “spooky and unusual” critters, including black cats, giant toads, albino snakes, tarantulas, hairless rats and a hissing cockroach. As spine tingling as they seem, these natural scares are fascinating to learn about, especially during such a frightful weekend.
Also part of the fun, the Autumn Harvest Tour Family day will host a costume contest, craft activities, carnival games, pumpkin decorating and more. The fun begins at 1 p.m. and lasts until 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 per child and adults are free. For more information, click here.
