4S Ranch’s 5th Annual Thank You Run 5K/10K and Kids Run on November 27

Welcome to the 5th Annual Thank You Run in beautiful 4S Ranch! This Thanksgiving morning race supports two fantastic organizations: Helen’s Closet which helps to care for people with ALS and 4S Ranch-Del Sur Community Foundation. The event will host a chip-timed 5K and 10K run that is a mix of trails and roads. All participants will receive a tech t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and 1 beer ticket for the Karl Strauss beer garden (21+). There will also be a Kids 1K Fun Run where all kids will receive a cotton t-shirt and a medal!

Course

This combination road/trail course is one of the most scenic and fun routes you will find on a course in the San Diego area! Each mile & turn will be clearly marked. Volunteers will be on the course to help direct runners. The 5k & 10K will both Start Eastbound on Dove Creek Rd, turn right on Dove Canyon Rd., turn right on Carmel Valley Rd, then right (westbound) onto the dirt trail behind Oak Valley Middle School.

The 5k will make a single-loop & will fork to the left (West) just past Mile Marker 2 & will continue up through Challenge Hill. Turn right onto Deer Ridge Rd, then right onto Deer Trail Dr heading south to the end of the Cul-de-Sac where you will enter on to the dirt trail that will lead downhill to the 4S Ranch Community Park Finish Line.

The 10K will make double-inside loop & will fork to the right (East) just past Mile Marker 2. The 10k will continue the 1st Loop on the trail behind the Boys & Girls Club past Mile Marker 2. The trail will lead back onto the pavement in front of the Boys & Girls Club, turn right on Dove Creek Rd (East bound) back through the Start Line area & then turn south (right) to return to the trail (just past the 4S Ranch Pocket Park). Please exercise caution when navigating through small section of stairs on the East side of the 4S Ranch Pocket Park as you return back onto the trail heading East to Mile Marker 3. Turn right at Mile Marker 3 (merge back onto the pavement) on Dove Canyon Rd, right on Carmel Valley Rd & then back onto the trail behind Oak Valley Middle school. As you complete your first “inside loop”, you will then FORK LEFT at Aid/Water Station #2. Head up the hill past Mile Marker 5 to Camino San Bernardo, turn right, then right again onto Deer Ridge Rd. Turn right on Deer Trail Dr heading south to the end of the Cul-de-Sac where you will enter on to the dirt trail that will lead downhill to the Park Finish Line.
